Requirements:
- Proven Project Management Expertise: Minimum 5 years of experience managing complex infrastructure projects, including global rollouts and service transitions, in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
- Formal Project Management Certifications: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) required; SCRUM certification considered a strong asset.
- Technical Infrastructure Knowledge: Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure mandatory), on-premise infrastructure (servers, SAN, network, security appliances), and associated enterprise technologies (e.g., Cisco UCS, EMC, HP).
- Experience in Outsourced Environments: Familiarity with managing offshore service providers and coordinating third-party infrastructure vendors to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
- ITIL and ITSM Proficiency: Knowledge of ITIL v3/v4 frameworks and industry best practices, with experience in managing service lifecycle and operations in highly regulated environments.
- Cloud and Data Centre Awareness: Broad understanding of cloud services, data centre infrastructure components, and service availability requirements for 24x7x365 operations.
- Operational Transition Experience: Hands-on experience planning and executing the transition from project to operations, including knowledge transfer, service readiness, and support model definition.
- Strong Analytical and Coordination Skills: Ability to assess application infrastructure needs, liaise with architectural teams to define solutions, and coordinate cross-functional delivery teams.
- Excellent Communication and Documentation: Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with attention to detail in producing project documentation, reports, and status updates.
- Collaboration and Service Improvement Focus: Experience working with internal clients, operations teams, and process managers to identify and implement service improvement opportunities.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Understanding of workplace Health & Safety policies and the ability to integrate safety considerations into project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Infrastructure Delivery Projects: Act as the primary technical project manager for infrastructure-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with defined objectives, scope, and timelines.
- Analyze Business Application Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand infrastructure needs and translate them into actionable project plans.
- Define Technical Solutions: Work with infrastructure architects to design fit-for-purpose solutions when standard offerings do not meet requirements.
- Coordinate External Providers: Manage offshore and onshore service delivery teams, including Managed Services Providers and third-party infrastructure suppliers.
- Ensure On-Time and On-Budget Delivery: Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions to meet delivery deadlines and financial targets.
- Validate Project Outcomes: Oversee acceptance testing and coordinate with business stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet functional and technical expectations.
- Manage Transition to Operations: Ensure smooth handover of infrastructure services from project to operations, including documentation, training, and support enablement.
- Track and Report Project Status: Develop regular reports to communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders and leadership.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Engage with clients and operations teams to identify opportunities for service enhancement and implement improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to Organisational Standards: Ensure that projects comply with internal IT standards, security policies, identity management frameworks, and financial controls.
- Support Health & Safety Principles: Promote adherence to H&S policies and provide leadership in maintaining a safe project environment.
