Role Summary:

We are seeking a Traffic Analysis and Policy Definition Specialist to join our team in remote position. This role is dedicated to managing and defining traffic analysis and policy to optimize network performance and ensure secure, efficient data flow within the organization. Key responsibilities include analyzing network traffic patterns, establishing policies to control and enhance network usage, and monitoring for potential security risks or inefficiencies. The Traffic Analysis and Policy Definition Specialist will configure and fine-tune traffic management tools, maintain high data integrity, and enforce access controls. This position requires identifying and resolving network issues, generating reports on traffic trends and performance metrics, and supporting end-users with troubleshooting and guidance on network policies. Additionally, the specialist will collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, implement industry best practices, and drive continuous improvement in network performance and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Traffic Analysis: Analyze network traffic across multiple accounts and environments to assess performance and identify potential issues
  • Traffic Categorization and Pattern Identification: Group and categorize traffic to identify recurring patterns and critical data flows that require attention
  • Firewall Rule and Policy Definition: Define and implement firewall rules and policies to control network traffic effectively and ensure compliance with security standards
  • Policy Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor and adjust network policies to maintain optimal performance, security, and resource allocation
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers and security teams to ensure comprehensive traffic management and security measures are in place
  • Traffic Optimization and Security Enhancement Recommendations: Provide expert recommendations for optimizing traffic flow and improving security measures across the network infrastructure
  • Documentation and Reporting: Create detailed reports and comprehensive documentation on traffic analysis, policy changes, and network performance for transparency and accountability
  • Continuous Learning and Industry Trends: Stay informed about the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in network traffic analysis and security policy management
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Integration: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools to define, deploy, and manage firewall rules and traffic policies, ensuring consistency and scalability
  • Automation of Policy Management: Automate the implementation and ongoing management of traffic policies to minimize manual errors, improve efficiency, and ensure consistency

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience in network traffic analysis and policy management
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify key insights
  • Network Security Knowledge: Solid understanding of network security principles and industry best practices to ensure safe and secure traffic management
  • Experience with AWS Network Services: Proficiency in AWS Network services such as TGW, NGFW, VPCs, and related services to manage cloud infrastructure
  • Firewall Management Experience: Experience with firewall management and traffic shaping tools to control and optimize network traffic
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Practical experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices to define and manage network policies and configurations
  • Communication and Documentation Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for network configurations and policies
  • Relevant Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GIAC, or CISA are a plus, demonstrating expertise in security and network management
