For one of the strategic IT projects EDV Werke is looking for an Data Engineer
Position descripiton:
- Technologies: Data Engineering, Data Pipelines, Data Modeling, Cloud Services
- Location: Spain, Remote work within EU
- Area and form of employment: Project/Support, B2B
- Experience level: Mid / Senior
Your main tasks as the Data Engineer will be:
- Creating and maintain the Company data & analytics platform ensuring adherence to FAIR principles
- Gathering large and complex datasets within the platform and make them available for different purposes and stakeholders
- Building scalable, automated data pipelines to produce high-quality datasets from different sources that meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Defining and executing automated testing of data pipelines and orchestrations
- Implementing tools and processes for accessing, managing and working with data for teams involved in reporting, advanced analytics and evidence generation
- Working with data team members to define data quality rules and KPIs for monitoring and exception alerts
- Diagnosing and resolving infrastructure problems and failures related to the data & analytics platform
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Academic degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, Statistics, Engineering or equivalent training
- Minimum 3 years of professional background working with large scale data platforms in the fields of Data Operations or Data engineering, using agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in implementing
- Data pipelines (using i.e. Pyspark, Spark SQL, Scala)
- Orchestration tools/services (i.e. Airflow, data factory)
- Testing frameworks
- Experience in
- Databases (columnar, NoSQL and relational databases: Redshift, DynamoDB, Aurora, Postgres and/or Snowflake), data modeling and data management tools (Hive, Jupiter, Zeppelin and/or Databricks)
- One of the main cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud or Azure) with Big Data services (EMR, Databricks, Synapse, HDInsight, Kinesis, etc.)
- Orchestration, automation, integration and continuous delivery frameworks such as Jenkins or Streamsets
- Team-oriented, detail-oriented, efficient, and solution-oriented attitude
- Superb analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and ability to work independently and in a team
- Great English skills (written and spoken)
It would be a plus if you had:
- Familiarity with reporting systems and visualization tools
- Ideal: BIRT, Superset
- Optional: Tableau, Looker
- Experience with
- DevOps, DataOps and MLOps
- Security and privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA)
- Health Industry
- Solid statistical knowledge
- Spanish/German language skills
